OVERVIEW

 

Challenging the process is finding a different way to achieve something in an easier, more productive or less wasteful fashion. Challenging the process is a great tool in leadership because if you keep doing something the same way forever you'll never get better at that task and you won't be able to adapt to extraneous variables when they occur in the process. The traits of grit or mental toughness are

 

 

 

 

These support challenging the process by having confidence in what you do and not being afraid to go out there and offer up an opinion or an alternate solution. 

 

DEMONSTRATION

 

     One of the ways that I challenged the process in class when we had to build the tallest tower out of a certain amount of materials. My team decided to suspend it from the ceiling even tho we were disqualified for doing that because it had to be free standing sadly. But that is still challenging the process by changing the way you look at it and just finding a different more effective way of building the tallest thing. I applied this skill during the project by coming up with the idea of extending our reach to elementary school kids and middle school kids instead of just limiting it to the teachers at our school.

REFLECTION

 

     A couple outcomes of not challenging the process is having something work but missing the opportunity of having it work better and getting a better result, or maybe something failing so bad that you cant fix it whereas if you challenged the way you did that certain thing then you could have prevented the problem. I feel like I did successfully challenge the process in this project because in my opinion I usually got good results when I tried to change something about what was happening.
